About William Tilston Ltd

Founded in 1913 and originally based in Crane Wharf Chester, William Tilston Ltd relocated to Dee Locks in 1926.

2004 saw a further major development with the business relocating to the current address at The Borders Industrial Park in Saltney where we have a 9,000 sq ft modern and well equipped joinery workshop.

William Tilston Limited is a family-owned business, running for 4 generations.

The current director, Andrew Tilston, started in the business 20 years ago and took over the running of the day to day operations from his parents 8 years ago. Andrew and his wife Margaret run the business today and are currently working on ideas to strengthen the market position of the business.

The introduction of a CNC router has allowed the company to maintain its existing high standards of quality and introduced a greater degree of consistency and productivity. It also allows us to produce a vast range of novelty products with varying degrees of client input and unbelievable levels of consistency and accuracy.

Further plans are afoot for more plant in the near future to complement the existing set up and broaden the product base we are able to offer.

Our skilled workforce has the flexibility and experience to undertake projects ranging from supply of standard windows, doors and gates to major refurbishments, specialist projects and construction works.

We strongly believe in building a personal rapport with our customers to develop a better understanding of their requirements and expectations, guaranteeing our clients direct access to senior managerial staff at all times. William Tilston Ltd operates for quoted works in the North West of the UK. Our works area coverage throughout the rest of the UK is subject to agreement and the requirements of individual clients, but generally our operational areas include Chester, Cheshire, Wirral, Flintshire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester.

We pride ourselves on quality workmanship and endeavour to reflect this in every type of job we undertake. The high standards that our customers have come to expect is achieved by employing skilled tradespeople, most of whom have been with us for many years.
